Comédien, danseur, chanteur et musicien, Albertson est peut-être surtout connu pour ses rôles de Manny Rosen dans The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Grand-père Joe dans Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), Amos Slade dans The Fox and the Hound (1981) et Ed Brown dans la sitcom Chico and the Man (1974-1978).
