Cynthia Ellen Nixon (née le 9 avril 1966) est une actrice américaine, surtout connue pour son interprétation de Miranda Hobbes dans la série Sex and the City (1998-2004), le film Sex and the City (2008) et sa suite Sex and the City 2 (2010).
Nixon a commencé sa carrière d'actrice en 1979, dans The Seven Wishes of a Rich Kid (Les Sept Voeux d'un enfant riche) et a fait ses débuts à Broadway en 1980, avec la reprise de The Philadelphia Story.
Parmi les autres réalisations de Broadway, mentionnons The Real Thing (1983), Hurlyburly (1983), Indiscretions (1995), The Women (2001), son rôle dans Rabbit Hole (2006) et Wit (2012), qui lui a valu un Tony Award et trois nominations aux Emmy en 2004 pour ses six saisons dans Sex and the City.
Elle a remporté un deuxième Emmy en 2008, pour son rôle invité dans Law and Order : Unité spéciale d'aide aux victimes.
